Cert Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EPI model), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level II

I grew up on a farm in Sweden with horses being a major part of my life from an early age.  I now live and work with my herd on a 30 acre property 40 minutes south of Perth, 3km from the Kwinana Fwy (Karnup Road exit).

I have practised as a Social Worker, Therapist and Counsellor in various settings for close to 30 years, including extensive work with children, young people and their families, and am now able to offer a unique service.  I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker  and as such am able to offer focused psychological strategies Medicare rebated sessions, after referrals from a doctor as part of a mental health plan.

A few years ago, I discovered a way to work with complex trauma that suited me well and so I completed Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training Levels I and II.  With Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I can use effective ways to help clients work through their trauma and early life experiences that may still be holding them back  and assist them to move towards a life with more possibilities.

Since then I have built on that experience with qualifications in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy with the Equine Psychotherapy Institute (EPI) to become a Certified Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner.

Each member of our herd has since  helped me in my practice together with clients.  Each horse has its own unique personality and abilities that can assist clients in their journey, ground a person in the now, stimulate awareness and teach the lessons that only horses can teach.
